We own a 1950's construction duplex that needs to have the furnaces replaced in both units.
In the +/-1,900 sq. ft. upper floor unit, the old furnace and some of the ductwork were removed recently by an abatement company, so the attic is free and clear of old insulation or equipment, but more importantly, there will be no removal and disposal of the old furnace. The boots and registers remain in place; just one line needs to be replaced when installing the furnace. One line remains; therefore, it will not require HERS testing.
