I am getting a new roof on my home. I had two major issues with the prior contractors with roof leaks, and on to my third contractor through our solar company/sunrun. Sunrun is going to pay for the whole roof to be re-done given all the issues we have had.The contractors are going to put in #30 double-layer underlayment throughout the whole roof. They said the kind they use has a 30-year warranty, so they recommend it over the #40. The company has a 10-year workmanship warranty, and the solar portion of the roof has a 25-year penetration warranty through Costco/Sunrun.I was surprised to find that the roofing company did not recommend ice and water shields. They said that it would be overkill to put in the valleys because they weave the two layers together to put in four layers. They als...
