Basement Remodel
We are moving into a house with a large basement area that is currently semi-finished. It has smooth concrete flooring with a few framed walls with insulation and fabric coverings and an exposed ceiling. There is functional wiring and a small, partially completed bathroom.
We are hoping to have a portion of this basement, roughly 200 sqft, remodeled into a guest bedroom. This would entail putting up about 10 feet of new wall framing, drywalling the frames that are already in place, installing laminate or carpet flooring, and installing a drop ceiling over exposed boards. We would also want wiring updated to have switches within the room only affect that room's lighting, since currently the entire basement is on a single switch.
