My fiance and I live in Gainesville, FL are looking to purchase a home in York, PA. One of the houses we are planning to place an offer on is livable but currently under renovation and would need a significant amount of work to be made final after the sale. Our mortgage lender (Kane Mortgage) recommended we have a clearer idea of the total cost to finish the house prior to placing an offer considering the extent of work as well as the onsite materials that are included with the sale.
If our offer was to be accepted, we would be interested in doing at least some of the work ourselves, as we live in the home but would need a full estimate to provide to our mortgage lender to be approved for a renovation mortgage loan.
