Allen Remodel

Allen Remodel is a design-build company specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling and custom cabinetry. We build our own cabinets locally in San Diego which separates us from most kitchen and bath remodelers and allows us to have full control of the scheduling and completion of our projects. We do not start a project until all cabinets are built and ready for install. This cuts down lead times by six weeks compared to other remodeling companies. Our cabinets are 100% wood construction with no particle board/melamine boxes.

From BuildZoom:

Allen Remodel at 3641 Bangerter Ct, Escondido, CA 92027, held a General Contractor license (#966284) with the California contractors license board with an expiration date of 10-31-2025. We last verified the license was expired on 12-28-2025.

Their BuildZoom score is 0 because we haven’t been able to verify an active license. As a result, they’re not ranked in the top 50% of 336,931 California contractors.

If you’re thinking about hiring them, we recommend double-checking their license status with your local licensing authority. Alternatively, use our project planner to be easily matched to qualified, licensed professionals in your area.

We needed a kitchen tear-down, and full remodel. The job consisted of replacing the flooring, all cabinets, counter tops, and re-doing our ceiling and lighting. In addition, we replaced the windows facing the backyard (new construction) and remodeled the downstairs half-bath to match the aesthetic of the new kitchen. Quoting this job required patience and determination on our part-- until we selected Allen Remodel , we had probably called 25-30+ contractors by phone, and had 10+ contractors visit the house to provide a quote over the course of about a year. During that time, I've found that finding a contractor with a great customer-centric approach, caring to make sure that the customer is fully satisfied, is still exceedingly difficult to find, even in a down economy. My wife and I have been very choosy to say the least, but in addition to that, we are novices to remodels/re-construction, and we have 2 little kids who need attention/ make noise/ etc.-- we needed a contractor who could not only do great work at a great price, but somebody who could simultaneously help to educate, without patronizing us, and could accommodate customers with real lives with an easy-going attitude. We had a great impression of Allen Remodel starting on day one! Materials: The cabinet construction is full ply (no particleboard) with dovetail joints; the drawers and doors are sturdy, perfectly smooth and beautiful. We got exactly what we wanted without somebody trying to talk us into something they wanted to sell. In addition, the recommendations we got on the granite countertop, flooring, and kitchen fixtures was spot on-- we couldn't be happier with the materials. Installation: Everything was right at our expected pace. Since we were living in the home (with an infant), we needed to minimize downtime in the kitchen. This went exactly per plan. (Thank God!) All of the cabinets were built before beginning the demo work. I was amazed at how quickly all the cabinets were hung, granite installed, and flooring laid. Special thanks to the tile guy who finished all the corners and edges, including grout and seal, over the weekend to get us back in the kitchen within 4 weeks as promised. Follow-up: There were 2 minor things that needed a follow-up after installation: initially a slightly clunky drawer (not perfectly smooth), and later a plumbing thing. Without any delay or hesitation, Allen Remodel readily came over to address the issues, at no charge! All in all, I really couldn't write a more positive review. The quality was excellent; the pricing was as-good (if not better) than anybody else; and the customer service was even better than expected. I have no relation, and no personal incentive to recommend these guys, but they definitely earned it. Thanks Paul!

"After carefully considering multiple quotes and companies, to include
the big chains, my wife and I decided to hire Allen Remodel for our
kitchen remodel. We were impressed by Paul's (the owner) thoroughness
and professionalism. He provided us with options to make our kitchen
more functional. Time was crucial for us and Paul ensured that his
team would finish the kitchen when we needed it finished. He exceeded
our expectations by finishing the remodel a week before we expected.
The kitchen is fantastic. I will hire him again!"

It was a pleasure working with Paul at Allen Remodel for the remodel of our kitchen and bathrooms. Paul listened to the vision we had for our rooms and provided knowledgeable suggestions for the project. We greatly appreciated having him think through details, presenting ideas and allowing us to make final choices with his guidance. He kept in mind our budget and family needs. For example, we wanted a kid friendly but modern kitchen and he was able to combine the two using materials that are easy to clean, have safe closures but still look amazing! Our kitchen and baths are truly one of a kind and constructed wonderfully for our every day use and enjoyment. Paul is well versed and up to date on all building codes and regulations and talked us through every step of the project. He was always professional, on time, and completed everything as proposed. We valued every piece of advice he gave and found he was only a phone call away when we had a question about the project or any other home improvement question. We highly recommend his company. Thank you, Paul, for making our house shine!

I contracted with Allen remodel after a long, hard search with other contractors. I must say I made the right decision with Allen Remodel. Paul Allen has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to kitchen design. He listens to you instead of trying to give you something you don't need in order to make him money. I can't say enough good things about Allen Remodel. My dream kitchen took only 4 weeks to complete and that is huge when you have 4 kids. Other contractors wanted more money and use home depot cabinets and let me tell you there is a big difference between the two. The quality is noticeable right away. Now when I shop at Home depot and walk past the cabinet displays, I just smile.
