If this is Ambient Construction Company owned by Steve Askari, please take our project you show on your site under this company, OFF! We do not want to advertise for this company in any way!
Hiring this company and working with Mr. Askari is one of the worst decisions we have ever made. In our opinion, how Mr. Askari got a license is beyond us. Again, in our opinion, his lack of knowledge and sub-standard work was quite amazing! We hired Mr Askari, Ambient Construction in May of 2014 to build us a pool, then in September 2014 added a major renovation to be completed. Since that time we have been living a nightmare! From the very beginning we had problems, but were too trusting. Mr. Askari assured us he was bonded and insured, he was not! He assured us he had "his guys", worked with them for years, he did not. Promised us architectural drawings, 3-D, what we got is what we refer to as "Kindergarten" artwork, nothing to scale, quite remarkable, not architectural drawings, but his computer program, and a poor one at that! The majority of subs either barely knew him or it was there first experience with him, and their last.
There is too much to say about our experience in this review. At this time we have a custom pool that we spent tens of thousands that will not hold water! A custom waterfall that is leaking, a custom slide with incorrect pitch and water flow so you don't slide, custom pebble finish over exposed and patchy white, a zero entry that was not built correctly. Our contract was for 12-16 weeks for the pool, we are at 17 months and now just getting it repaired at our expense after 3 estimates to the sum of 20,000+! This does not even cover some of the issues but will resolve the leaking and pebble finish. Part of the other remodel was a shower addition to our guest home. After having repeated subs, framers, plumbers, electricians etc walk off the job, telling us they will never work for Mr. Askari again. We had a sub, pounding on our door one night and his words, and I quote.. "Ive been ripped off" and wanted us to pay him. We had subs replacing other subs for the same thing over and over again like a revolving door! It was finally called completed , 10 MONTHS LATER!!!! Unfortunately, the light is dangling from the ceiling, the sealer from the shower tile work is all over the new toilet, the toilet does not work correctly, and the entire shower has to be resealed due to improper application.
We had to hire and pay for the pool fence ourselves as the fence contractor would not work for Mr. Askari. The pool contractor held us "hostage" for payments to continue working as Mr. Askari was behind and not making them. We made payments on his behalf in fear our investment was completely in jeopardy. After constant excuses, delays, sub standard work, a pool that was a mess, Mr. Askari, after 3 separate companies told him the pool was leaking, and had been since the prior Febuarary, we were at our wits end! We asked repeatedly for the inspection reports and were assured all was in order and he would get them, along with the proof of bonding and insurance. The final straw came when he was not truthful about his bond, he did not have one, never saw the insurance he claimed to have, and the icing on the cake was when we found out from the county the only inspection on the pool was at the rough plumbing stage, and it FAILED! There were no other inspections done! Mr. Askari was FIRED! We lost thousands! The only bright spot is we never let him start the remodel, thank goodness.
We have since hired a reputable company, skilled, knowledgeable and actually has a team of guys who have worked with him for years!
We have a home that was gutted down to the studs, framing done on a 22x28 addition, plumbing installed, all in the past 10 days...it took Mr. Askari 10 months to build a little shower, and poorly.
In our opinion the only thing Mr. Askari is good at, is taking your money! BUYER BEWARE!!! -

Steve's bad financial situation had a major impact to our project. He had the project standing by for more than 3 months to find cheaper manufacturers. He also hired inexperienced sub-contractors to save cost, which caused further delay to the project. As a general contractor, he didn't pay off his sub-contractors and caused serious trouble to us. At least two sub-contractors threatened multiple times to put lien on us. After the end of the construction, he didn't honor his warranty. He only showed up once and then disappeared, never followed up or returned our calls. Please be aware and stay away.

Steve built our home which is 8 years old now ...it has been a constant struggle overcoming his inadequate work and incompetence. ...the contractors all commonly ask when they come to fix his shoddy work "who did this" or " this is interesting work" ....not to mention liens left on our property due to his inability to payout subs... plus if you desire having have the county come in and reinspect and have you rebuild your project because the proper permits were never pulled by Steve then he is your man!!!
Despite we are not even on speaking terms ...my house is still displayed on his website without me knowing or permitting it ... classless
