Do not hire this person, his work if he does it, is at best mediocre. I hired Mr. Wech Set. ist 2022, he estimated the job will take about 5-6 weeks. The job was to remove debris from a building after a tree fell into the building and rebuilt the room. He gave me an estimate I thought was reasonable for the work that needed to be done. Mr. Welch showed up a week late to start the job. OK things happen.
I paid $12 450.00 to purchase material, but never saw anything but a few 2x4 and a few other things. I was told it was because there were many backorders. I ended up ordering flooring windows etc. to get the work done and paid with my credit card, I had no problem having these items delivered. Mr. Welch told me He would deduct the amount I paid from the total, but he never did. To make a very long story short, there were many delays, he had a back problem, then the flu, then he had a problem with his hands and could no longer work. By now it's Dec. the job was not finished and the work that was done was terrible. There are crooked walls and windows that don't open and close, the entrance door has a 2-inch gap on the bottom, and the roof leaks worse than before he fixed it. I have filed a complaint with BBB of NY. Mr. Welch has ignored my complaint and sent a letter stating, due to the fact that I filed a complaint is not able to finish the work. I was told by Mr.Welch, to find a handyman to finish the job. Mr. Welch knows that I'm not able to hire an attorney, I'm 79 years old and live on a very limited income. So, he takes advantage of my situation. He took the money and run.
Do yourself a favor, do not hire this person.
