Install a door with the intent of other additional work after that
    $600

I asked for an estimate in July to have a simple door replaced from my family room in the basement to the garage. The came out and said they would send the quote. Received the quote the Friday of Labor Day weekend (1 month later). Was told once half the quote was received I would be added to the schedule. Sent the money that same weekend and called them two weeks later to see when I would be on the schedule. Was told I would get a call back from Keith. Never heard from him. After calling each Friday for three more weeks after that to be told he would call me back. Finally the lady that answers the phone (Friday 1 November) told me he would be out 8 November to do the work. My husband waited all day and he never showed. To date I have not heard from the company to apologize or to reschedule. I stopped payment on my check. If you have someone answering your phone give them the information to answer customer questions rather than have Keith call back, which he doesn’t. Sad for them as we just bought the house a year ago and had a good bit of work to be done. Will take my business elsewhere.

Finish work for modular home and tile shower

I had called Need a Hand Handyman service on June 28th, to request a bid for some new construction work I needed completed upon building my new home. I sent the detailed list of work I wanted the bid for on the same day. It's now August 1st, after 2 weeks I called and asked what the status was, and was told they're getting to it, and would get back to me within a week. Still hadn't heard anything so today I called again to find out if the bid was completed (after leaving a message last week on answering machine with no response for a week) at this time the woman who answered the phone told me "It's here, he just hasn't had time to do it yet." My response was "So you're TOO busy to give me a bid?" She said "Yes, pretty much. " At this time I thanked her for letting me know this after I've waited for a month to hear something... if they are too busy to complete bids, they certainly won't be for long doing this to potential customers! I will take my business elsewhere for sure! May have unknowingly dodged a bullet with this company.

    Home remodel

The bid came in super-quick. Keith tells you what you want to hear. In a nutshell, we wanted to work with him and wanted the job to be a success for him as much as for us. His work required micromanaging which in the end wasn't enough because he was dishonest, failed to meet communication conditions, lied about having products ordered, did not show up to work on days that he said he would, and did faulty work repeatedly. We had to catch the faulty work ourselves each time and point it out to him, he would reluctantly fix it and never apologized or took responsibility for his mistakes or neglect. Several times he went up to three weeks without doing any work on our home and often seemed to have forgotten what work was left to do in the project. He was not able to answer for the status of project completions sometimes, thinking they were done when they were not. He tried to charge us for work we had someone else do, assuming it was his work. He completed extra work without agreed-upon charges when we specifically instructed him to wait until we okay'd the charge. He did not verify paint colors and painted our kitchen twice the wrong color without looking up the specific color name I gave him or checking the sample I gave him. He did apologize for leaving trash for long periods of time but that was the least of our worries. We also spent hours cleaning up all the plaster dust all over the house from his work but he didn't take responsibility for this when it was brought to his attention. He put his sign in our yard without our permission. He installed his own fixtures after being directed by us to refrain and wait for us to specify the fixtures we wanted. He did not provide bids we requested for additional work. After several prompts over 4 months to take responsibility for communication with cabinet builders , he tried to charge us for the time he spent doing so. He offered no creative guidance. After being led-on and waiting through 3 months for him to do work, he stated that he wanted to be paid a sum that had previously been agreed to be paid at the end of the job. He resigned and in his resignation letter again took no responsibility for the time he drug us through (we were held back from moving throughout his delays) and stated that he had been working on other peoples housing projects throughout this time that he had been unavailable and unreliable to us. Needless to say, the company needs a lot of help in management, administration, and integrity. We wish them the best but think we should have listened to other people in their similar predictions of working with this company. :(
