    RE:
Roland Zoller Construction, CSLB Lic #950926
    793 Old Canyon Road
    Fremont, CA 94536

The following is a review of the work completed by Roland Zoller Construction in Fremont. One year ago, I contracted with Roland Zoller to start doing flooring work in the kitchen on my rental property in Hayward.

I found the quality of his work to be way above that of others I had previously hired. I discussed doing additional work on the home as this was the first time I had done any significant upgrades since I purchased the home 40 years ago.

We decided to remodel the kitchen and bath and replace most windows with dual-pane windows. We also replaced all the doors including the entry door. The kitchen and bath required obtaining permits from the City of Hayward and coordinating with subcontractors for the plumbing and electrical requirements. Roland Zoller handled all of that and more.

All I can say is that Roland Zoller was wonderful. His craftsmanship was the best. He oversaw and supervised the subcontractors, acquired all the required permits, and made sure all were successfully signed off by the City’s inspector.

Roland was great to work with and kept me informed of the progress.

I highly recommend Roland Zoller Construction to anyone who wants a professional job with the best craftsmanship.

    Repair ceiling crack
    $4,500

Roland did a repair to the ceiling in our hallway, he removed the drywall and replaced it, He reinforced the ceiling rafters above the damaged area.. He worked with the engineer and provided him with additional information for the job. He added two ceiling lights in the hallway to my surprise. He primed the site for later painting. He was always on time and was very responsive to my communication. I look forward to working with him on the next phase of improving our home.

Repair a damaged ceiling and walls.
    $10,600

Roland repaired the ceiling and walls in the bedroom of my 102 year old house. He was thorough and helping in repairing the damage and suggesting other electrical upgrades and safety issues to keep the old house in great shape. I would recommend Roland for work on older houses. He did the necessary work and then more to make the house look new again.

    Door sill replacement
    $340

We had Roland come to our house for a small project. We found him very courteous and professional and he was clear in explaining what was required of the project. While he waited for the arrival of parts needed for the job, he communicated with us timely and proper. The quality of his work was top tier and not only that, he came back a few days for more detailed work to the finish.
We will definitely hire him again the next time we have a project.
    We recommend him, hands down.

I would absolutely recommend Roland Zoller Construction. He fixed a structural repair to a wall inside my home. He was prompt, conscientious, and timely with his work. He gave an honest assessment of the problem and the best way to proceed. Once the wall was opened he was able to show me what needed to be done and explained everything. He took the time to rebuild the corner for support and was meticulous with the quality of his workmanship. He set up plastic and tarps to protect my floors and furniture. I was not only very happy with the outcome and quality of the work, but also how clean my home was during and after the job. I will definitely be calling him again for the items on my to do list. He did everything promised and more.

    Attic Remediation
    $15,000

The most important aspect in selecting a General Contractor is trust, which is why we chose Roland Zoller Construction. Our project was an attic remediation entailing: removal of improperly installed insulation (installed by previous owner), elimination of the existing knob & tube electrical wiring, new lighting, debris removal, rodent proofing, air-sealing and reinstallation of cellulose and batt insulation.

The end result was a comfortable,100 year old house that resists the heat from our burdensome California summers.

Roland Zoller Construction took the time to properly itemize and articulate the scope of work necessary to complete our project, and completed the work as scheduled.

We will certainly ask them for their services again.

Replacing doors, pergola, and repairing water damage.

After spending the last two years trying to find a responsible and fair contractor, I was fortunately connected with Roland Zoller. Roland and his partner Gilbert diligently took notes, made comments, and listened to all of my concerns about the they would perform on my house (mostly age and water damage to the back of the house: replacing the pergola, slider, french doors, and siding). Roland made sure to explain and make suggestions for the project - he always checked with me if there were any necessary changes and additional cost (with water damage and age of the house, of course). Roland and Gilbert work hard, are precise, amiable, and always want to do what is right - for the homeowner and the work. A major project in the Bay Area is never inexpensive, and I've had smaller projects in the past that were done wrong, nor did the people completing the job care about the work or my concerns. Roland is a true craftsman, who wants to do the job correctly, listen to the concerns of the homeowner, and is always fair and upfront with cost and the work. I highly recommend Roland Zoller.

    A Professional and a Friend

Since Roland first came to repair a small area of original hardwood in my 1960 ranch home, I've never considered using anyone else. Since then he took a bathroom down to bare wood and rebuilt it, sealed and painted the house, built a porch and installed a new front door, among other repairs and upgrades. If you want quality work, done the right way call Roland. I feel very lucky to have found him as he's not only a trusted professional but also a friend.

    Structural repair of roof
    $630
    1 day

If there were 10 stars I would have selected all ten. Roland replace a cracked structural support beam in my roof that was preventing the final closing on the sale of my house. Job was done quickly and extremely professionally. Done right the first time. I was extremely impressed. He saved the day for me. The work environment was tough. I'm not sure how they even got into the space, let alone complete the job. They were in and out in about 3 hours and it was perfect. Home sale went off without a hitch and the roof is as strong if not stronger than when new. If you find something that works, stick with it. Roland Zoller Construction is a keeper.

    "Reliable, honest and trustworthy!"
I purchased an older home mid last year. I needed a contractor to repair several items that came up in the home inspection. Roland Zoller was recommended by several people from my real estate agent's office. To my surprise, Roland did such a thorough inspection of the entire property! He noticed details that the home inspectors didn't. He then did a walk through with me, noting every item and explained why it was necessary to repair. As the project took place, other issues came up that needed to be taken care of. Roland always consulted with me before starting work on anything that was not in the original contract. He was very honest about what needed to be done and what could wait and made adjustments always in my favor. Roland also kept me informed of the progress and completed the project in the time frame agreed. Being a single female with little homeowner experience, I was very nervous about taking on such a big project, but Roland made the entire experience stress free. He was very patient and willing to answer any and many of my questions. He was always there when he said he would be. He is an expert yet always took my opinions and ideas into consideration. Roland's work reflects professionalism, quality and pride. I highly recommend Roland Zoller and Company.

    Construct a new room addition
    $$100,000
    120 days
    Excellent Conrtracter

Mr. Zoller completed a 340 sq. ft. room addition providing most of the work (foundation, framing, finishing, etc.) with immediate employees and subcontracting design, roofing, electrics, stucco, and flooring, and demanding the highest quality and timeliness from the subcontractors. He negotiated requirements and permits with the city of Fremont, was on site every day, kept reasonably within budget, and maintained an amicable working relationship with us and all others involved in the project. He was especially creative in problem solving and in suggesting alternatives as needed. For example, when roof line needs required removal of an old skylight tube, he substituted an artificial light source while maintaining the integrity of the original feature. Also, sensitive to our age and health, he provided wooden porches and railings at the outdoor exits instead of the single concrete slabs planned. In addition, Mr. Zoller, using design, flooring materials, and color, adeptly integrated the new room with the 1960s house, providing a seamless transition from old to new. Further, he often researched several alternatives to meet our needs as when he identified an inverter unit that we eventually installed for heating and cooling the new room. He proved highly skilled in carpentry and construction and took pride in the quality of his work, gave us excellent advice, was energetic and enthusiastic and fully trustworthy. We are delighted with the result of his work -- a bright multi-windowed addition that we use as a dining room – and have received many complements from family, friends, and neighbors. We give our highest recommendation to Mr. Zoller and his construction company.

    garage, floors, misc repairs
    $1,000
    3 days

My husband and I have had a professional relationship with Roland Zoller Construction since 2009 when we bought our current home, knowing it needed a lot of work. Roland was introduced to us by our friends and former neighbors. His first project for us was repairing and restoring the garage. The transformation was amazing. The second large project was replacing all the flooring. Between the two major projects, he built a fence, designed and created patio cover that did not block the light but kept the area dry. (It's clear plastic.) Numerous inside repairs to the kitchen and bathrooms. In the past five years, I cannot begin to remember the list! Roland is our "go to" person for any and all of our house problems. We have used no other construction company since his first project in 2009....over 5 years.

He is extremely professional, neat and clean. He completes projects in a very timely manner. His prices are very reasonable for the work involved. Most helpful in design.

I would happy give Roland Zollar Construction the highest recommendation.

    Regards.

    outside stairs
    $9,600
    6 days

I needed to replace my outside wooden stairs in my family home. Upon inquiring about a reliable contractor, Roland and his company came very highly recommended. Upon he looked at the job site and what needed to be done it was fallowed by a written estimate an a projection of time of completion of the work. The old stairs were taken done and Roland noticed some dry rott on the wall that the stairs were attached to. Taking care of the dry rott and building the new stairs the job was completed within the estimate and time of completion. All the work done was very professional and I would highly recommend Roland and his company.
