In June 2013 we signed with Mark to build our home. It is currently July 2014- 13 months later and we have had to take over as an owner build (not even at 4-way yet). He couldn't finish a home that contractually was supposed to be finished in 120 days. It took him 4 months to get our permits, then another couple months before footings and foundation, then another couple months til framing, then left it there. At an un-finished, crappy framing job. It was an incredibly dangerous framing job which we have had to hire a new crew to fix. Oh, did I mention that he stole our $10,000 down payment? This guy is a total crook and I am going to do everything in my power to make sure he never takes another construction job. We are not his only un-happy clients. He has caused other clients to go into foreclosure because of him not being able to still to a timeline. Every sub contractor that knows him, knows that he is a terrible piece of work. Broken promises after broken promises, lying, stealing, crook. We are currently filing a lawsuit against him for damages as well as criminal charges for stealing our down payment. We tried to offer him a settlement deal to at least get back our down payment and the $10,000+ commission that he had already taken, but of course he just ignored our lawyer like he ignores everyone who wants something from him. He put his personal cabin as collateral on our loan and on another client's loan. They are finally walking away and giving up on him and foreclosing which means he's going to lose his cabin. Hallelujah! The crappy part about that though, is since his collateral is also tied to our loan, we have 60 days to complete our home or we will be lumped into his foreclosure. Needless to say, we've gotten more done as our own general contractor that he's done in a year. See you in court Mark!

We built our house with Sequoia Builders (Mark) and finished in 2014. We love our home, and were able to make it a true custom home. He was very patient with us when we made changes to plans, and included us in the building process. Everyone who comes to our home say they love how unique it is. We are now using him to finish our basement and are happy with the building process so far.
