Absolutely not. In fact, their popularity has snowballed over the last decade. They were originally used commercially for decades as a cost effective, durable option for many groceries, warehouse stores and other commercial spaces. We now use them on new homes, kitchens/baths and in my company’s case, exterior porch spaces. They are a great solution that is different than any other flooring finish and will last a lifetime if installed correctly. Equally, the gloss/finish/colors can be altered down the road which adds to it’s versatility.
In addition to the enhanced appearance, there are other valuable benefits, which include resistance to staining, easier cleaning/maintenance and longer life of the concrete itself.
