Are the GC's and Flooring Subs testing concrete slabs for moisture content with ASTM method F 2170?

CSI performs ASTM testing for subs and GC’s to predict and determine if a concrete slab is suitable for certain types of flooring. If you install a good flooring product on a wet slab (moisture lurking below slab but dry to the touch), the moisture beneath stabilizes and surges via moisture vapor to the surface and destroys adhesives and flooring materials. Many times we perform forensic testing after the lawsuit has been filed. Think before you install flooring on a concrete slab.

I am surprised at how many GC’s and Flooring Subs DO NOT use this method prior to installing any flooring products.

Feel free to give me a call if you want to discuss this topic further. Do you believe in measure twice and cut once philosophy!

I agree with you - that’s why you see so much LVT/LVP that looks like wood and tile. Most projects are so rushed nowadays; they don’t have time for the slab to cure enough before the flooring goes in.
