Can I put wallpaper in a bathroom? Will it peel from the steam?

Hello Lauren,

Although it does vary case by case, depending on your lifestyle and the way you use your space, there are plenty of wallpaper options to choose from that are suitable for a bathroom. Look for a wallpaper that is water resistant, washable, highly wash resistant and scrubbable. A great option would be a solid vinyl wallcovering because it does not absorb water, which makes it great for a location with high humidity.

Hi Lauren,

Solid vinyl wall-coverings will be the most suitable option for a bathroom or powder room area. Solid vinyl wall-coverings have a non-absorbent surface that does not absorb water and therefore is great for spaces where there is the potential for water or lots of humidity. Solid vinyl wallpaper is comprised of a vinyl film laminated to a fabric or paper substrate. It is the most durable type of wallpaper since it has no holes through which water can penetrate in comparison to other vinyl wall-coverings that have a spongy porous composition.

My philosophy is to keep it simple. So my answer is yes, you can put wallpaper in the bathroom. It is not the paper you have to worry about, it is the glue you use to adhere the paper to the wall.
That is pretty simple.
Good luck.
