We have recently hired a company to jump through the hoops of a few of our local county permitting processes. It is still new for us and we previously used to do all of it ourselves. I was excited about the time savings promised and hope that the return on investment is there. Wondering is anyone else has done this and what they are paying for the service.
Dovetail Joint Construction Company, Inc. does all of the permitting process in-house. This saves the owner time and we get going on the construction sooner and the owner moves in sooner. Win- Win
Grayson’s Contracting llc we pull all of our permits in house. Reason for this is to make sure that we are held accountable for the permit we’ve pulled, and also to track expenses. Also seems to help with scheduling.
We do our own permitting, but all but one of the counties we work in allow us to pull permits online. If we had to go and do it in person I’d say we would have to see what made the most sense time and budget wise.
At Central PA Remodeling, we handle most permits by ourselves. There are times where permits are placed in the customers name, but we will assist them in the permit process from start to finish. We do not hire from outside to handle any permits.
We do both, primarily in house, however if the job is a fast moving job we will hire an expediter to run the permits and handle issues as they arise.
This can cut considerable time off the front end of a project!
Apex Builders LLC, pulls all our own permits. Most reputable companies like ours that are fully licensed and insured will want to pull permits to insure that work is done to our standards and is more convenient for our clients as well. It’s the professional thing to do in our opinion.
We pull our own permits. The only time another company is involved is when Engineering is required. I also make my own blue prints and 3d designs, and typically only ask the engineer to provide a memo for me to cite.
For almost all of our larger projects, I will pull the permits for or with the client. There are many times that the client does not have access to, or knowledge of, the details that are required to work through the permitting process. The process can be very intimidating if you have not run through it a time or two…fact is, sometimes it still can be intimidating for me.
Timberline Roofing & Contracting does there own permitting. It’s part of providing customer service
