Yes we permit expediters. We simply don’t have the time to visit the building dept in the middle of a work day. A good company here that we use locally in NYC is City Wide Engineering 718-297-1900. We share a lot of work with each other.
Yes…we use them. They allow us to focus more time on running our business instead of chasing down permits at different municipalities. Another great benefit is that they can usually cut through some red tape faster that us which means faster turnaround. We are upfront with our clients and let them know beforehand that the cost of the permit and the procurement fee will be billed (at cost) at the time the permit is issued.
Every Time. Most of the expediters in San Diego have unofficial desks at the city development office. The cost is well worth it.
