This is exactly right. You’ll work with and pay the contractor directly, not through BuildZoom. However, you can submit your contract to BuildZoom before signing for professional review to ensure there aren’t any surprising or potentially damaging provisions included (or left out).
@karam_z_92 are you asking whether BuildZoom facilitates the payment to the contractor? We do provide the contractor with an invoicing and electronic payments application, however we do not currently make this mandatory. There are a number of reasons for this: first, for most GC’s and builders, the credit card fees actually have a material impact on their margins’; ACH is a viable alternative, however there are some UX challenges associated with developing a clean and simple ACH workflow. We have discussed some alternative methods like escrow for larger builds, however this is something we’d look at implementing later in the year.
