This is a galvanized channel in 10’ or 12’ lengths, most of the time used in Commercial applications like hotels and/or offices, to bring down the sound transfer from one floor to the next floor.
Does anyone use RC or Sound channel in Residential construction, and if so, how is their experience?
This is a good question, but I can only give my experience as it pertains to California.
Resilient Channel is used to mitigate sound transmission, and it’s most common in Hotels. In residential applications, we primarily use it in Custom Homes.
Acoustic mitigation is relatively easy in most homes built from the ground up.
RC / SC is fine.
