I tried using Rust-Oleum Countertop Transformation kit on my countertops and it doesn’t look right. I need to know if it can be fixed. I would prefer to do this myself, but realize I may not be able to. If you have any helpful suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!
IMO, Transformation is a DIY cosmetic fix. It’s marketed as an inexpensive way to get granite-like countetops with only a $200 investment (or whatever it’s selling for right now). I’d be much more surprised to hear that it DID come out right. Without seeing it no one can say (without more extensive details), but I’d plan to replace them.
I tried transformation on a small vanity top and it came out …eh …ok… but I wouldn’t use it again. What’s wrong? What didn’t come out right? The stuff probably ate into the original top so deep that it may never come loose. I would recommend giving it another coat…? and follow instructions closely.
To be honest----I was hired by a real estate company out of California to redo a home in PA. They wanted this stuff used on kitchen countertops so I tried it out. I actually liked it—at least as a cheap option for someone to redo their counters…I don’t think I would use it in my home–but–the results weren’t too bad to be honest
Remember the old saying “You get what you pay for”? Maybe you could put formica over it if the surface is smooth.
It works very well .Its all about the pre working the technic in application.Im not a fan of it because it takes some up keep and you have to be a little more gentile.
