Go to the CSLB website. Their it will give you an option to type in the license number, and you can see if their license is active and if they are bonded and insured.

Well first of all; you need to make sure everything is current otherwise what’s the point? License information can be obtained by your local licensing agency. You can check with your local attorney general or consumer affairs(most have websites with search engines now). As for insurance it’s always best to get a “certificate of insurance” from your contractor with your address on it to make sure your covered. P.S. certificates of insurance are always free. Do not believe someone who says they have to pay for it.
