How do I review a contractor once they have completed a job?

Most reputable contractors are listed on several websites and associated with multiple affiliations to get their name out there. However some contractors ask for internal reviews to avoid any negative reviews out on the internet to review them at their discretion. There are several ways to still review a contractor by searching for them on sites such as BuildZoom, Yelp, Home Advisor, Social Media (facebook, twitter, etc.) and Angies List, just to name a few. Most contractors will often send this link to have you review them on these sites anyway if the customer is happy to build their profiles.

Hi Don! You can try reviewing them on Google, or of course, if they’re listed on any of the several referral sites such as Buildzoom. I like Google because practically everyone uses Google as their search engine. It is very simple to leave a review, just “Google” their name, and if they are listed, you will see off to the right a window with their name, contact info, and how many stars they have. Click on the stars and there you go!

Search their name in Buildzoom.com. Then scroll about halfway down their page and it’ll say leave review.

What does your question mean?
Are you asking how to determine if a contractor has done a good job?
The question strikes me as vague. Can you be more specific?

With honesty and to the best of your ability.

Hey Don,

You should review a contractor based on your experience with the contractor. Take into account the timeline that was promised and if the contractor was able to deliver on that promise; obviously taking into consideration any changes that occurred during the job and how that affected the time to complete the job. You should also review the contractor on the quality of work performed and communication between you and the contractor. If possible, upload pictures along with the review so that potential clients can see the type of work the contractor performs. Hopefully this answers your question.
