It’s really simple , if it is your first time painting a room or you have not painted much here’s what I’d do to protect your flooring and to keep everything clean as possible,
All of the below explain the process , ceiling I don’t prim unless there’s brown spots if there are then prime ceiling,
Walls I always take care of prepping filling and sanding then I prime then I paint two coats , trim I only paint two coats no prime unless it’s bare…

Step #1 remove all items from room if possible. If not possible everything to the center of the room and cover with plastic, then cover all your flooring with plastic 1st then cloth drops this will keep you from tracking paint should you drop some the cloth will absorb it, where the second layer under the cloth the plastic is to keep it off your carpet or wood flooring , should you spill it onto the stop it will absorbent where the plastic under the drop will stop it from going into your carpet or flooring it’s a must they also sell drop cloths with plastic on the bottom of them but they’re expensive that’s why I just do plastic than the drops,

Preparation is the key to success on any job the better the prep job the better any job will turn out so that means any holes you have in the walls you want to take all the nails out and fill them with that putty any big holes or dents skim with drywall mud leave dry and sand , repeat until nice and even and your sent is gone I always take a sanding sponge and just go over the whole wall to get it as smooth as possible it’s really quick and really easy…

Paint ceilings , with a roller and don’t be afraid of getting on walls , I always turn my roller sideways cut in the ceiling with the roller saves a lot of time get the paint on the walls that means you won’t have to cut in ceiling , make sure you don’t get no ruins if so brush them out , them leave dry after dry next step

Cut in the walls to the ceiling area , baseboard area and corners then roll the heck out of the walls paint in the shape of the letter " w" and backfill you can lock up this technique if you must , don’t roll all crazy take your time and it will look nice
Step #5 Paint your trim in semi gloss white most of the time…
Step #6 add stickers or logos to the wall two day after paints cured…
