Can I do this myself? I want to change my cabinets and counters.
This really depends on your ability to not only operate the required tools but your ability to accurately read a level and tape measure. Changing cabinets and counters can be done by a do-it-your-selfer but only if you are 100% confident in your abilities. If you have any doubts, consider contacting BuildZoom and getting a few bids on the project. There are plenty of great professionals who are priced reasonably, you just have to look for us. Best of luck!

Ben, hi.
Kitchens are tricky. There are so many variables! Electric, plumbing, HVAC, sheetrock, demo, sourcing the right cabinets, etc.
I would say it’s better to hire a professional to do it for you.
Good luck.

The demolition is easy. Make sure to put tarps and cardboard down before removing old cabinets.
You can start removing cabinets by removing all of the doors and drawers first. Easy to use a pry bar at each hinge kind of popping off the doors. Remove countertops by prying upward. Once countertops are removed you can either use a sledge hammer to pound the face frames off of the cabinet boxes, then unscrew from the wall.
