there are a variety of apps that can help you with you trade , for example there are nec code apps for electrical work . you can also use your phone to check emails to stay in touch with your customers , print from your phone , etc…
We have found that even using the notepad feature on a smart phone is a great way to store project notes, estimate information, contact info, etc. Being able to access the internet to check lead websites, manufacturer websites for specs, state and national code sites, etc has been a huge help in instant information needed to answer on-the-job questions.Email is one of the biggest pluses with smart phones. For certain aspects of our work we will use Square to process credit cards through the phone
We use mobile devices heavily in our day to day operations. I use my smartphone for all my my invoicing and also for any CC payments we accept. We use the Dropbox app to store necessary files so that our foremen and lead carpenters can check documents pertaining to the job while on the jobsite. It is an extremely convenient and useful tool.
