How does the BuildZoom scoring system work?

The goal of the BuildZoom scoring system is to provide an objective value that will help a consumer quickly evaluate a contractor. It also controls the order in which contractors appear when consumers are using the site.

We are constantly tweaking the algorithm to make it more accurate and useful.  The most important considerations are those we gather from independent third-parties: 


	License status (where applicable) 

	BBB rating &amp; accreditation (where applicable) 


Community variables then help us differentiate between qualified or unqualified contractors, including:  


	Consumer reviews. 

	Quality &amp; quantity of home improvement answers in our forum. 

	Quality &amp; quantity of project photos uploaded. 


A contractor with a suspended license and a lot of answers in our forum, will always have a lower score than a contractor with an active license.  On the other hand, a licensed contractor who has provided high quality answers in our forum will have a higher score than a licensed contractor who hasn't. 

 

To ensure our scoring system isn't duplicated or gamed, we don't disclose the specifics behind it but in general, if your public records are in good order and you are a consistent participant in the marketplace, you'll have a very high score.

I totally absolutely agree:

"This is a defining website with a unique identifier, through their algorythm and the ONLY website that I am aware of, that has this scoring system and I am on at least on 6 other websites (besides all the ones I don't even know about)

Let me explain: 

I started on 6-28-2013 when I roamed on the Web and suddenly, much to my surprise, saw my own Company on Buildzoom.com, I thought, Hmmmmmmm, interesting. let me check this out, my score was then like 51, I believe.

Just a number to me,but I was annoyed to see my name on page 40 or thereafter, so I went to work ;-)

I claimed my spot and my website: BOOM, went up to number 20 with a score of 91, nice!, but not good enough for me!

Right away Claire Petersen came in with this personalized email, giving me hope, when she wrote:

Over the next couple days, a member of our community team will be reaching out to verify your application. In the meantime, we invite you to log-in and create a great profile. We use a scoring system to help homeowners find contractors. If you have a high score, it means you'll get a lot more people looking at your profile. Here are a few things you can do right now to make sure you have a great score:


	Add great photos of recent projects you have done.

	Get your clients to leave reviews on your profile.

	Add a BuildZoom badge to your Website.

So I started to set up my profile and starting to post close to 200 pics right away, last weekend, BOOM, up to place nr 5 with a score of 96, by now Claire Petersen and her wonderfull staff already verified all my info with the state and my license,etc,

ALL FOR FREE!!!, Did not cost me a dime! They said what they promised, for free!

Do not forget, I was a "limited" member, I just signed on, kicking the tires, if you know what I mean, especially with 5 gazillion websites out there promising you Gold on every street-corner.

Needless to say: I loved it!

I went back to work, following her advice and that of the "Dashboard".

By now I got the hang of it, in a matter of a couple of days, I could actually tell people I was ranked number 4 by now with a score of 97, I was on the main page in a matter of days.

So yesterday basically only one week after I started, I signed up for the "Standard " package already, and BOOM!!!

Up to Spot number 2, with a score of 102, with more reviews, more questions that I answered, just like they told me.

Now this week I might have the chance to become number 1, who would have thunk?

After more than 36 years in the business, this is the first time I feel validated and recognized for my talents and efforts through all those years by you and my peers and customers, this is far better then "Angie's List" where customers have to pay in order to give you a score from A to F. or for that matter any other website, there is no comparison.

BUILDZOOM is in a league of its own, setting a new standard Like "Apple"

People have to get used to it, after that it will take of like a rocket!,

No one can stop this momentum, I am so proud to be part of it!
