How long does remodeling a kitchen last?

Hi
It depends on the contractor you hired & how extensive the renovation is.
If you need electric, plumbing, cabinets, counter … etc.
It can take from 3 to 4 weeks
However a good contractor will make all the setups to make it as short, clean and easy as possible on you.

Short answer - it depends.
Long answer - 6-8 weeks from start to finish. We pull permits for the electrical and plumbing, which can take 1-2 weeks to get approved. Then, cabinets can take 4-5 weeks to receive from the point of order. Plus, you will need to discuss your design prior to even beginning the work, which can take 1-2 weeks. So, from day 1, speaking with a contractor, it can take up to 8 weeks, realistically. The actual construction portion would probably take 3-4 weeks as long as the material is available to install.

Hello and Good Afternoon!

The ANSWER really depends on what the extent of the kitchen remodeling encompasses. A good contractor will lay out the expectations ahead of time and will give you an estimate depending if there needs to be any extensive plumbing or electrical work involved.

this should be a couple of weeks. 2 to 3 depending on amount of extras. Repairing or new sheeting, electric upgrades & is everything going right back in the same place.

It depends on the size of the kitchen. It depends on whether utilities are being being moved or not. The experience of the contractor is also a determining factor. The range can go from 1 week to 4 weeks to longer.

Depend on the material and the contractors labor. Statistics show that a kitchen that was done by a qualified contractor will last approximately 15-20 years

Your best answer is: YES!

A very general answer to a very general question. All the answers are correct. There are so many things to consider, so many questions unanswered, it is impossible to provide an accurate answer.

I have seen kitchen remodels run as long as 18 months. Yes just the kitchen, yes a major remodel, yes there were many problems revealed, yes changes were made by the owner during construction, yes the cost went over $100K. Yes the owners were very satisfied with the results.

It depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend.

Typically, a kitchen remodeling project, that doesn’t include major structural changes, is 4-6 weeks. This includes time to come up with a design, select materials, prepare drawings and specifications and quote the project. Obviously the larger and more involved a kitchen project is, the longer it will take to complete.
