How much are architectural plans for a daycare?

I know they will vary depending on size, but is there a rough ballpark you can provide for me?

There are more to your question…for this type of use building, daycare is a commercial use, you need a licensed architect to provide you with a full set of plans to obtain a building town approval, zoning, parking & building permit & to obtain finance. Cost can not be figured by a $$ number. Architectural drawings progress in stages to final documents, site plan / parking, structural & mechanicals, electrical, site lighting, ADA access and pickup to dropoff areas. There is a lot of work to be done to satisfy local building & fire department authorities. Plus you have to hire a licensed architect and they will do construction control per building code requirements. Each stage comes with a separate $$ cost.

Sharia,

Even as a licensed architect, I don’t think I can guess how much it would cost but, to give you an idea, architects normally charge a percentage what the total cost of the construction would be. The higher cost, the more complex the plans, the higher the cost to design and document.

Size may not be the only driver of cost, new-vs.-renovation could also define the cost.

If you are in the Washington, DC area, feel free to give me a call and I’ll be happy to provide for an estimate.

Good luck with your project,

If you have a way of estimating the cost of construction you can take an average percentage to obtain the number you are looking for. You may also contact local architects in your region to request a consultation to help you better plan your budget. The percentage fee will also depend on how large the project is. If the project is small (under 500K) expect a higher percentage fee. If the project is large a fee reduction is often available. Hope that helps.
