Assuming the fixtures are already purchased, how much does the install cost?
Jan,
I feel like your question is not complete. In other words there are many factors that need to be addressed before costs can be assessed. The best answer is to have contractors come and bid. Here are the things they will look at:
-Is there electrical outlet or j-box nearby, and is that circuit conducive for 2 more fixtures. Where will the switch go?
-Is it possible to pull electrical wire to either side of the door and to the switch? What demolition may be required to get it done? What will be the cost of repair demo
-If there is no electrical available, where will it come from and what will those costs be?
So basically this project could be anywhere from $1000- $3000 depending on conditions.
$125
I can give ballpark prices on the hypothetical that demo to the walls may have to be done, and someone else would have to be contracted to repair this demo afterwards. We would do our best, and usually find a way to not require this, but this is always a case by case scenario once we get into the wall.
Also assuming you have some power in your entryway, which you most likely do for entry hall lights or what ever you turn on when you first walk in the door.
If this is a wood framed home and not concrete, $450 with a switch.
If this is a concrete wall, is it poured? if not pored the price is about $650.
If it is poured will be $1050 with very likely someone else is separately contracted to repair all of the demo we would have had to do.
