Is there an average square foot price? What goes into the cost?
Costs to remodel a kitchen can vary greatly depending on the materials used and the size of the kitchen. Here is a few of the larger items that will go into your kitchen remodel: 1. Cabinets 2. Countertop material 3. Flooring 4. Lighting including light bulbs 5. Back splash materials 6. Plumbing fixtures: sinks, faucets 7. Appliances 8. Painting 9. Window treatments 10. Carpentry items: doors, drywall, tape, mud, screws, nails, glue, framing materials, etc. 11. Building permits and drawings 12. Decorating finishes. This is a very basic list of what goes into the cost.
There is no "average square foot’ cost approach because the price of materials used varies so greatly and so does the taste of each consumer. Our approach is to set realistic expectations based on the customer providing a budget. If you have ever watched any of the TV shows like Property Brothers, Love It or List It, even some of the rehab shows or flip shows, they always start with the budget and then you can have the contractor design your kitchen within your budget.
Generally it depends on the materials involved during the remodel.
Terrence, it really matters on selections made by the homeowner. Cabinets can swing wildly from a few thousand to a hundred thousand, but in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley, 30-50 thousand is the typical range.
