How much should I tip each member of the crew installing a deck?

Since it is not required to tip workers, if you feel they have done a good to great job, I have received anywhere from $25 to $50, and in very rare occasions, $100. $20-25 Will buy dinner or a night out at the movies.

You have no obligation to tip a construction company employee because they are on payroll, and maybe 2 or 3% would even think about the possibility of getting a tip from their customer. But if you wish to probably $25 would be sufficient.

Food and Water bottles are best… and then if you was super excellent then …yes give each guy $20 tip…

A tip is not required as the workers are making good money at the job sites. Nothing is required by the owners of the job but if wanted to be courteous maybe some coffee or drinks on a hot day would be appreciated.

You don’t have to tip worker’s but if you want to do something nice for crew you buy them a cold drink or hot drinks depending on weather crew will be really happy, they will see that you appreciate what crew is doing for you sometimes is not the money

Tips???—Who said you need to?, If you feel the need—Go for it—how much???–How deep are your pockets…a Billionaire might give 1K to each, and would be pocket change to him.
I did receive a $400 tip years ago, on a custom job, which turned out beautifully. The client became a several time repeating client, as they loved the work, with my competative prices. Yes tips do make one feel good, they know their hard work is greatly appreciated.

Some guidelines on tipping:

  1. Was the job done to near perfection?
  2. Was it done prior to completion date or one completion date, especially if a rush job.?
  3. Do you feel the crew had your best interests at hand?
  4. Were you impressed with the outcome? / daily cleanup of job site?
