We’d like to demo the ceiling in our master bedroom to make the room feel more spacious. The room is currently 12’ x 17’ with 8’ ceilings. We don’t think there’s any duct work in between our ceiling and the roof, just insulation. How much should it be for the demo work and for the finish work?
Its really hard to say what it will cost or how much you can cut into them. Before doing anything, I would consult with a engineer. The reason is that your roof trusses are engineered to hold weight of the roof. Also it could be over-stacked and built in a manner that won’t allow you to cut into them.
