how many sq foot do you have
The price of the countertops will be determined by the level of granite you choose and the size of the job. Most granite is prices starting at $40 a square foot. This is level 1 with a standard edge. If you upgrade the level and the edge, you can be looking up to $100 a square foot.
Hi. I just did a kitchen in Boston Ma. It worked out at $69 sq ft installed:
standard edge, including a single bowl stainless steel sink.
Level 1 granite 3cm with standard edges is about $42.00 per sq. ft. You’ll also have to pay extra for sink and cook top cut outs. Most granite companies won’t do the hook ups for gas or plumbing either because of license liabilities. Make sure you seal it too with a good quality sealer.
It greatly depends on the size of the project, due to all the prep work. But a good rule of thumb is from $100-$150.00 a Lineal foot of Counter Space. Also make those measurements along the wall not at the front of the cabinets.
Color-color-color, it’s all about color. 1,2,3,4 or a,b,c,d. East coast - 1 and 1/4. West coast 3/4. Go right to the granite supplier. Stay away from Home Depot and Lowes, they just jack up the price. I know, I worked there.
When we install granite, our sub usually charges us between $1200-1600, although sometimes up to $2400.
This is for the granite, fabrication and installation, and we’re getting a fantastic price because of our volume.
Rule of thumb for us is that it costs about $240/slab of granite, and the same for installation.
Granite price can vary quite a bit. If one goes with a local contractor you should get it for about a starting price of $ 30.00 sf. Then again there is the thickness, the edge, the back splash size, and maybe a few other thing.
