I want to somehow give recognition to the contractor and to the carpenters who built my home. They did such a wonderful job and I want to show how much I appreciate them and how proud I am to own a home built by them. Any suggestions on how to do this?
I suppose you could write a positive review on Yelp or a site like this. You could also recommend that contractor to friends. You can also send them a nice card or gift to give thanks. We contractors appreciate little gifts and thank you’s.
A well written letter has always been the old stand by, and does wonders, but a few positive reviews on Angies List or Yelp help as well. I also love when customers refer us to family and friends. Having that recommedation speaks volumes. For years I’ve worked primarily through referal.
I would send a note/email expressing your appreciation. You could also ask if there is a website that you could write a referral or offer to allow them to give your contact info to a future client. If I needed to hire a contractor to build a house I would like the opportunity to speak with a past client. It’s also likely that that the contractor hired sub-contractors and they might also like personalized reviews for their businesses as well. Referrals to family, friends is high praise. As is repeat business, though you may not be looking to build another house soon there might be other smaller jobs the contractor or subs could do in the future too.
Hands down a restaurant gift card! Only to a great reviewed restaurant though! Not MacDonalds
I think it’s so thoughtful of you to consider them! As co-owner of a general contracting business who specializes in carpentry, my suggestion would be 1.Tell everyone you know how happy you are with their final product 2. Write several positive reviews about them on all the big referral web sites and 3. write a short thank you note. No need to buy them anything, your appreciation is more than enough!
First and foremost was the contractor who built your home the owner or an employee of the company. If it was an employee make sure to write a raving review to the company about the contractor and the carpenters who worked on the project. Secondly ask the company if there are any sites in which they use that you could post your reviews. Depending on your appreciation you could post it on multiple sites by simply copy and paste. Third, referrals to family and friends is always appreciated as that is the majority of most companies business. Lastly if the contractor or carpenters on the project were employees a small gift card is always nice. If it was the owner then no gift is necessary. The reviews and referrals are gift enough. I hope this helps
Referring them to people in your professional and personal network is a great way to show your appreciation.
Also leaving detailed reviews on BuildZoom as well as other sites is a great way to motivate and inform potential future clients. The more specific review the better.
