When remodeling a home that has asbestos insulation, how do you handle working around and/or removing the asbestos safely?
Best not to do it your self, hire the asbestos experts to do it. If you must do it your self, please look at it on Ytube and follow the instruction carefuly. Need proper clothing, tools and where to place & contain to dump the materials removed regardless of the quantity. Some towns require you reporting it before removal, to make sure it is disposed of properly.
Please never do it your self, always call a licensed abatement contractor.
If you suspect asbestos is present, you will need to take a sample to a licensed laboratory to have the sample tested. If the test is positive for asbestos, consider hiring an asbestos abatement contractor. Although expensive to do, the consequences of disturbing asbestos and allowing it to migrate through the structure can expose the owner to risk- physical and legal.
