I’d like to make better use of our sloping backyard, but can’t afford the cost of building multiple retaining walls. What are some creative solutions for using the space?
Probably the most cost effective way to do that would be to do the digging yourself and install either a juniper wood or railroad tie retaining wall. Juniper would be best since it looks better. Also, railroad ties sometimes contain dangerous chemicals, especially harmful to pets and children depending on the supplier.
