It is by Far much better to have Cabinets custom made, however it does tend to get a tad bit more pricey. The reason for Custom made Cabinets as apposed to A Big Box Company, is that of the ability to have a Perfect Product, instead of simply settling with something pre-packed and not made to your particular specifications. I.E. You Should Always try, if you are able to afford it, Always Go Custom!! That way there is No room for Error, and You know for a Fact that you, without a doubt Will be 100% Satisfied!

Somethings to consider:

  • 50% of quality in kitchen’s cabinets projects depends of the installation. Custom makers have more control over the final result.
  • Custom means that you can decide each details of your kitchen.
  • Price isn’t point of consideration, big companies have better price on volume, but sometimes over material quality.
    You will keep your kitchen for 10 years, average, easiest get changes and updates from custom manufacturer.

My preference is Custom. The quality of the kitchen can be controlled with much better cabinet construction and field applied finishes. This is of course in homes that deserve custom. Track homes on the other hand, it’s all about speed of install.
