Whats the best way to close leads? What makes customers feel most comfortable? We want to give them the best experience when we come out. What kind of presentation should we approach with?
There’s more than one answer to your questions because every opportunity / potential project is different and geographical locations and demographics all play a role on influencing your potential customers and what they may respond to. My advice is always the same…Be 100% honest and explain all questions as thoroughly as you can. Don’t look at the person or persons as a project but more like a partner for that particular project and treat them with a higher degree of participation…I’ve always found that getting my customers involved in the design phase as well as the selection phase perfectly Segways them into being more involved with the scheduling and execution of all tasks. Thus making the job go smoother and much faster because most of the time many of the pieces to the Puzzle are there or already selected…just waiting to be installed or constructed.
In closing there are many moving parts to any project, just keep in mind you’re completely disrupting peoples lives (Most of The Time), so try to make it less inconvenient and remember to remind them that they invited you so live up to your promises…In short ------Promise Less, Deliver More!!!
Getting them involved has always worked for me to make them completely comfortable and Honesty and Knowledge of what you’re there for is definitely the Best Presentation.
Bottom line people trust reputation and build with someone on trust and understanding. Value and price come into play but at the end of the day, a client needs to trust that you understand construction, ESPECIALLY if they don’t understand construction whatsoever. They want to know their keys and home are in the right hands. Promise them exactly what you can deliver, never more!
The best way to let homeowner or a client feel comfortable is not to rush them to sign on the spot, but to receive a detailed estimate via email.
FIrst of all, make sure the customer is looking to do the work sometime soon! Then make sure everyone that is involved will be part of the proposal to make sure all questions are addressed. Enough time for the Estimate is crucial as well. Always make sure you have there contact info and address correct so that you have good communication and there are no mistakes. Establish a time that you are 100 percent sure you will be on time. First impression is EXTREMELY important! Get a second number just incase the customer is away for coffee or with a friend. Make sure you get the details of what the project is beforehand to make sure you are sending the appropriate contractor out. Be thankful for the opportunity and show them why they should choose you!!! Don’t forget to leave them your info.
The only thing you should do is make sure to answer questions professionally, listen to the needs of your client address them. don’t try to sign like a car salesman. Be honest always!
#1 Listen. Don’t just jump right in to say something. Listen before you speak.
#2 Be personable with everyone. When you answer the question. Also explain your answer.
#3 Be honest and open. Talk about some of your experiences when answering questions.
#4 Know you trade inside and out.
