I’m planning out a custom home with an architect, and want the master bedroom and family/great room to stand out. What are the most interesting or unique ceilings you’ve encountered?
Some form of vaulted ceiling? Maybe an interesting paint color, or finish? Or interesting lighting ideas? I’m hoping to get some new ideas! And if you have pictures, I’d love more inspiration.
You have a good taste. Your paid architect should be able to provide you answers to your questions, you have great ideas, from multiple level & elevations / vaulted plaster ceilings inlays with LED lighting you can dim, wood trim can wow, steps down or up into the mentioned spaces can work too.

It all depends on the size of the rooms, the height of the ceilings (is there a 2nd story above the room), and the style you want the room. Traditional, modern, eclectic, transitional… There are endless ideas for each style.
