Pros and cons of going through the permitting process?

Permit is necessary for most projects its safer if you hire not a professional contractor someone have to inspect his work and beside doing a home remodeling is an investment when its time to sale the property you would like to gain all your investment and profit by doing it Wright

Inspections are required to help the consumer.
As an electrical contractor, I have been on too many jobs that were done incorrectly, unsafe and unprofessional.
Hiring a contractor that pulls permits ensures that the job will be inspected by a third party.

Always get a permit it ensures that the job is being inspected and protects the homeowner in the long run.

Check your local City or County website for the requirements. I always encourage my homeowner to seek a permit when required even for the small stuff. If they opt out it may come back to bite them, not in the quality of the work I do but rather should they decide down the road to sell their house they may have to provide proof of permits and it can delay a sale. Side note, it the homeowner pursues the permit themselves it usually cuts down wait times and can be a lower cost permit. (go figure)
