I have a 15 x 30’ gunite pool that was filled in with rock by the previous homeowner. I am quite sure that the original pool was in good condition prior to being filled. Does anyone have a guess as to what it would cost to remove the rock, repair and refinish the pool, and replumb the pool?
If i decide to build a new pool, what is the cost of removing the original pool?
Prices in one area can be far from those in another however in Florida you should expect removing and hauling the existing pool about $10-$15k. When pools are filled in the fill is usually just dropped into the shell without regard for potential future use. This can cause all sorts damage (particularly if larger rocks are used) that would have you chasing leaks for years to come. However if you really want to attempt to save and reuse the shell you should expect to spend $15-20k on it but before undertaking such effort make sure you know up front exactly what is and is not warranteed.
