In the last three years has there been any changes to codes for single story foundation footings in California?
The 2013 California Building Standards Code(CBC) went into effect on January 1, 2014. It included significant changes to California’s Energy
Code, Building Code, Green Building Code, and Plumbing Code.
Changes in the code for single story, foundation footings are not indicated, but I would recommend calling the local building inspector to clarify any significant changes. I would also recommend reviewing Chapter 4 Section 403 of the CBC-2013. Try this link:
