What is the best type siding for the south side of my pilling home, there is water damage in one corner very bad. I now have T-11 wood siding and it 35 yrs. old. The siding buckled slightly at the top after I had the floors reinforced and water got in behind the siding. The other sides are in good shape and will need painting in the next year, but the south side needs attention as soon as possible. I would think stucco would be the best, but my budget is limited to10,000-15,000. need advice. Will be out of town till 6/23/2020. Area is 3,600 sq. feet.

I would nee to look at a picture and understand the of deterioration of the siding. You maybe able to restore it even partially to reduce the expense. The most important part is to address the siding buckling to address the problem with a long lasting solution. Your home location plays a major role too. Share more details so I can give you a better opinion.

In reply to your E-Mail My address is8469 Cardinal Road,on the northeast or ORIOLE & Cardinal. It is about the 5th street south of San Carlos Blvd. The major damage on the 2nd floor about 4 feet wide and 8 top to bottom. there are small patches here and there, so I would say 15 to 20 percent. Only the south was affected., which is the front of the house was affected. They hammered 1" by 9" boards between the floor joist every 4 feet and used glue before hammering in place. Actually the whole front appears to be dry rotted somewhat, I don’t see an easy fix, but I am no expert. I broke my my ankle,crushed both heels,back,fractured my back,ruptured 6 disc,1 shattered and had to have a plate placed in my neck’,so I can’t really get up on my ladder.
