Yes, a glue is a secondary dry wall holder it prevent the sheetrock from moving and showing all nails on walls, also if you have a any flooding in your house the glue will hold it along the entire joists and prevent from falling down on you when is soak with water.
We prefer what’s called ‘glue and screw’. So far, we haven’t found a better way to hang sheetrock. Glue gives it extra strength, and screws usually are a better choice over nails.

Yes, the best practice for drywall on the ceiling is glue and screw. Glue is necessary on the ceiling because the sheetrock is fighting gravity constantly.

Yes, as long as it will get screwed in as well. just glue is dangerous. it must be screwed as well
