We’re about to start a $100k+ remodel. Should I insist on being added to my contractor’s insurance as an additional insured?
Your Contractor MUST give you certificate insurance from his liability and workers compensation insurance providers. Your property address and your name should be included as Certificate Holder.
Additional insured applied to more than one owner example: Co-ops, Condominiums, LLCs, etc.
Check that Body Injury is an endorsement on the Liability Policy.
Yes, definitely!
You should receive a CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE. Your name and address will be added in the Certificate Holder Area. The certificate of liability will include basic information such as policy number, the liability coverage limits, expiration date, and the contractor name who is being insured.
