No…UNLESS you’re requesting for someone come out to give you a detailed written quote when you know you’re not planning to hire them and you just need their quote to compare/negotioate, in good conscious, you really should pay for their time.
You should never charge or be charged for an estimate
Suburban Home Improvements in Green Bay,Wi does not nor does any roofing contractor in the area
We do not charge for estimates. We always recommend that a homeowner look at more than just the price when deciding on a contractor. Online reviews, seeing insurance certificates, and thoroughness of the quote should all be considered. If a roofer’s quote only says something like “replace entire roof with 3tab shingles for $x,xxx” then RUN! A proper quote will detail the scope and materials used. There is more to a roof than just shingles.
Depends if you’re just simply getting a quote. Insurance Agents- Real Estate agents put roof inspections on owmers or mandate last minute ordeals, to get inspections and even the roofing done for their prospective buyers. It’s all done last minute, and it’s not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Most roofers chrage real estate agents 300-500 per inspection. Depending upon the situation, it benefits everyone if owners pay. Nothing is free. In my experiences, the owners who paid me , hired and me and left 5 Star reviews.
