Hello, I am considering getting some solar panels installed in my home. I know Vivint Solar and Solar City are two of the big providers, but I am having trouble understanding the merits of each. Could someone please help me understand?

The two companies tend to focus on lease options. Look at the payment and calculate what it will cost over 15-20 yrs ( depending on the time period) and then look at using that same cash to purchase a system. Even if the payments end up slightly higher you own your own energy and equipment instead of 20 yrs of lease.
NEITHER!!! Leases are scams. Find a local installer that can help you finance the system. The savings on your electric bill covers the loan payment each month!
I agree neither, find a local installer with 50 installs under their belt who is honest.
Never go for lease. Always purchase your systems outright. Too many cons in leasing.
