If we want bigger picture windows, what factors constrain our ability to increase the size? What issues might make the price jump?
There are a few; however it depends on the structure and the original engineering. It is a big job: you would need to hire a local contractor, re-frame the openings, and then install the new windows. While this doesn’t seem like a big job, below are potential causes of problems:
- Electrical
- Siding
- Framing
- Inspections and permits (depending on your local code)
- Drywall and finish trim on the inside.
Here in Oregon we normally charge $450.00 labor per window.
Hope this helps.
