We install almost any brand a client has interest in. We are not stuck on the name game. We will always do our best to inform every client of both the potential benefits & potential downsides to a particular product they are interested in. We make recommendations to clients that want the input based on several factors. One of these factors is the local availability of repair parts for years down the road. No one wants to wait a week in the middle of Summer or Winter because a contractor installed a product that doesn’t have a local parts distributor. Another factor is manufacturers warranty coverages offered. Yet another is what the client wants performance wise out of a new component or system. Another is cost range the client wants to keep the project in. Yet another factor we consider when recommending a product is the application it’s being used for. The biggest reason we are not stuck on a particular brand is we truly believe that when a system is sized properly, the duct system is ensured to be adequate for the system, and industry recommended best practice techniques of installation are followed, just about all manufacturers equipment will provide a client with many many years of worry free operation.
There are no specific brands that are so called better than others for residential applications except for when factor is equipment warranty length or specifications. It all depends on the application, area, layout, and customer preference. We install every brand and do recommend certain brands depending on job budget. The only time I had to steer my customer toward certain type of brands was during a commercial application on a mall project because the brand that the prints called for had a lot of service issues. Hope this helps…
