Handymen and Licensing, what can a handyman do or not do in your state
In the State of Hawaii contractors are required to have a license to operate a business. Handymen do not and often are uninsured as well. They are allowed to perform cleanup, light carpentry trim work, light painting, concrete patching, screen, lockset and window repairs. The combined efforts on any one structure cannot exceed $1,000.00 in cost whether it is charged to the owner or owner provided materials they add up all the same.
They are not allowed to touch any Plumbing, Electrical and Structural components of any building structures.
