What concrete mix is better for driveways?

In my area the code is calling for 3500lb.

I recommend no less than 4000 PSI with fiber. The fiber is overkill but if you want it to last longer it will help.

I think 4" to 5" thick of 4000 PSI concrete will be best.

3500 PSI and 4" w/either fiber or wire mesh will be fine for a driveway.

I recommend a 4000 psi with air entrainment (6-8%) and all natural sand (which will give the color a more brownish color once it starts to wear. We use a straight cement mix in all of our work with no fly ash, which is what used to be called a 6 and a half sack/bag mix. It will hold up better through the freeze/thaw cycles. I also recommend placing #3 rebar 24" on center each way in a grid pattern. This will minimize cracking and seperation if you do get a crack and compact the stone under the driveway prior to placement.

As Mentioned before 4000 psi concrete with metal wire mesh or rebars

We typically pour a 4000 psi mix with a 5% to 7% air entrainment. We also usually add fiber and put #4 rebar on two foot centers each way. We then saw cut both directions approximately every 8’ to 10’ depending on slab thickness and length

I would suggest first using a compactor to level the surface. Then use a gravel and wire mash as reinforcement and lastly use 4000 PSI. With all these factors, you won’t get any cracks in your concrete. And don’t forget: do not use salt for the first year.

2500-5000 PSI. It depends on budget. I would recommend to use not less than 4000 PSL to avoid cracks. Also its better to apply it with N4 rebar.

Recommended 3500PSI, 5" thick slab and re-bars #4.

We ALWAYS use 4000 psi with rebar and wire mesh. It’s a little more expensive than 3500 psi, but it is just an overall better quality product. And no matter what PSI you use, concrete WILL CRACK… the control joints help tell it where to crack, but using stronger concrete definately helps reduce cracking.
