I made some pretty expansive dome ceilings and tray and coffer-ceilings etc. in my career, but never really got any refferals out of it.
So, my question is simple, are there any Home-owners that still would be interested in having someting unique that would make their house stand out from the rest, versus just a vaulted or high ceiling.
I have framed many dome, oval, barrel arched, etc. ceilings in the past too. Not so much in the past six years though. It all depends on what the architect sells to the home owner. Also it depends on the area lived in. I was building in the Temecula, Ca. area before with more spanish style homes which had alot of arches and round walls with dome ceilings. I moved closer to San Diego, Ca. years ago and that is simply not quite the style in the beach area. Occasionally on some “flips” I do talk the investors and generals into letting me build some to add a sell factor to the home.
Yes! Anything that is different that a slick coat will add value to a house. People looking to buy homes always want the nicest things they can afford, and different cellings are at the tops of their lists.
